Computer Science Minor
The computer science minor provides students with a broad overview of the discipline of computer science. Students will be introduced to the concepts and principles of computer science in both lecture and laboratory settings. Students will apply computer science principles to solve problems, think critically and recognize computer science in their everyday lives. Students will also develop their programming skills in multiple languages. The minor is valuable for students in other disciplines including but not limited to business, biology, chemistry, and mathematics that want to develop a deeper understanding of how to integrate computer science into their fields.
The minor is not solely, or even primarily, for Natural Sciences & Mathematics majors. Students from many allied programs, including Kinesiology, pre-Nursing and Education, often pursue minors within the Division. Students interested in acquiring a minor for teacher certification should first consult with their academic advisor and the Education Division.
