Web Design Intermediate Technical Certificate
The Web Design & Development program prepares students with the skills necessary for organizational web design, development, and management. Course work includes applying current trends in web technology, standards, and applications to real-world projects. Successful students will be able to work in development teams and effectively communicate in the web design and development industry.
Upon completion of this certificate, students will:
- Describe and define the roles of a web designer and web developer
- Demonstrate the ability to publish and update web sites and set up a domain
- Construct and design a web page, site, and application using standards-driven HTML and CSS
- Implement event-driven programming on a web page using JavaScript
- Distinguish between content management systems and demonstrate their use and utility
- Complete a web design and development portfolio
- Demonstrate understanding of web-based graphic design, image editing, and design layout
- Compare JavaScript frameworks and demonstrate their use in the building of a client-oriented web application
- Research and describe solutions to customer requirements through a web development capstone project
Completion of a Technical Skills Assessment is required.
