Geology Minor

The minor in Earth Science provides students with an understanding of the concepts and principles of applying scientific inquiry to questions about Earth's systems.  Students will be exposed to a wide range of scientific disciplines with a specific focus on the laboratory techniques and instrumentation used most commonly in studying these systems.  The minor is especially valuable for students interested in environmental careers but it can enhance almost any field of study. Students interested in acquiring a minor for teacher certification should first consult with their academic advisor and the Teacher Education and Mathematics Division.
