Nursing BSN
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is a dynamic baccalaureate program with a pre-licensure track and completion tracks for currently Licensed Practical (LPN) and Registered Nurses (RN). The LPN-BSN track is offered via a combination of traditional on-campus and online course delivery. The RN-BSN track is offered in a fully online format with practicum experiences that can be completed in the student's home area. This program also has a concurrent enrollment track for students in an approved Associate Degree program at select community colleges (CC). The CC-BSN track is offered in a fully online format with BSN coursework scheduled in coordination with the CC program curriculum. The BSN student will develop and expand knowledge and skills delineated by professional nurse roles. Students participate in selected learning activities to develop an understanding of the art and science of nursing. The program provides an educational foundation for continued nursing study at the graduate level. Graduates of the pre-licensure track are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam for Registered Nurses NCLEX-RN®.

BSN Program Outcomes:

- Stakeholders who are satisfied with the BSN curriculum and educational experience.
- Students who graduate from the program.
Accreditation
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Lewis-Clark State College is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791 and is approved by the Idaho Board of Nursing.
Admissions and Degree Requirements - Pre-licensure Track
- Completion of pre-program requirements at LC State or an accredited university or college.
- General LC State admission requirements.
- Submission of completed application and fee to NursingCAS (www.nursingcas.org) for acceptance into the upper division BSN curriculum. See the NHS web site (www.lcsc.edu/nursing) for admission criteria (TOEFL, GPA, Certified Nurse Assistant certification or LC State Equivalency, prerequisite coursework), dates and processes. Admission is competitive with a limited number of seats each semester.
- Transfer students must submit course descriptions of prerequisite courses to NHS academic advisors to determine course equivalency prior to application.

- Minimum science GPA of 2.75 in the following courses prior to program admission: BIOL-250, BIOL-227, BIOL-228, CHEM-105, MATH-153 or PSYC-300.
- Lower core course completion required at time of entry into program.
- CNA certification or LCSC substitution is prerequisite for BSN program admission.
- BSN courses must be taken in sequence listed. All courses in each semester must be completed successfully to progress to next semester.
