Career & Technical Education offers professional and technical training through a formalized array of educational experiences that will prepare individuals for gainful employment as semi-skilled workers, skilled workers, or technicians in recognized and in new and emerging occupations. It also prepares individuals for enrollment in advanced technical education programs.
Organization
Career & Technical Education provides instruction, training, and degree programs in following departments/divisions. Business & Computer Science Division: bookkeeping/accounting, hospitality management and web design & development. Healthcare Education Center (HEC): medical administrative assistant, medical assistant, medical laboratory technology, and physical therapist assistant. Humanities Division: graphic communications. Social Sciences Division: paralegal. Teacher Education & Mathematics Division: early childhood development. Technical and Industrial Division: auto mechanics, CNC machining, collision repair, computer information technology & security, diesel, engineering, fire service, HVAC-R, industrial electronics, maintenance/millwright, and welding. Workforce Training provides education and training opportunities in all areas of industry, allied health, and professional/business technology. The Adult Learning Center provides quality instruction in reading, writing, math, and the English Language to help adults transition into college and/or prepare for the GED tests. Early College Programs allows high school students to earn competency based technical college credits for their high school technical coursework. Career & Technical Education also offers an Affiliate Program in Dental Hygiene through North Idaho College.
